2019年のデモの余韻と、2020年のパンデミックによる外出制限の中で描きました。

I painted with lingering of the demonstrations in 2019 and in the going out restrictions because pandemic in 2020.

2019年6月12日、香港にて、民主的なデモを、政府が警察の暴力と大量の催涙ガス弾で封じようとした日。

そしてデモとそれに対する警察の暴力は繰り返された。デモに遭遇し、あるいは報道に触れるたび、中島みゆきの「吹雪」の歌詞の一部、「降り積もる白い物は羽の形をしている　数え切れない数の羽の形をしている」が心の中に浮かんだ。自由を求める人々の翼がもがれ、羽が舞い落ちる。私はそれを見ている事しかできない。もう、2年前の話。

12th June 2019, in Hong Kong. The government tried to block the citizens' democratic demonstration with a lot of tear gas grenades and violence by police. Then, demonstration and violence by police were repeated again and again. When I saw the demonstration, or touch the broadcasting about demonstrations, I had been recalled a part of the song lyric "Fubuki (it means snow storm)". "White things those are falling and lying on the ground have shape of feathers, Those have the shape of countless feathers," The wings of those who seek freedom were wrenched off, and their feathers were falling. I could do nothing except see it. Already two years ago.

This cow toy is called Akabeko, originally it is a talisman to avoid smallpox infection.

Hope Akabeko avoid COVID-19 infection as well.
